A warm welcome to our new improved website, designed to give you up to date information as it happens with all club activities.
The Club as it is today is about to enter its 3rd season following the successful merger of two established clubs, Ferndown and Wayfarers, in March 2010. We are proud of our status as a Focus and Club Mark accredited club which has been awarded to us by the ECB (English Cricket Board). This recognises the high standards achieved and maintained in the development of Youth cricket & club facilities.
Facilities include:
- Licensed Clubhouse facilities at Dolmans Farm
- 2 grass playing squares
- 2 recently installed artificial wickets (ideal for Youth cricket & cricket development)
- 2 new mobile nets & a state of the art new bay net facility
We are one of the leading cricket clubs in Dorset with our first team playing in the Premier Division on Saturday & our Sunday 1st team are the current Dorset League Champions. This coming season sees our 2nd team on Saturday designated as a development team to assist the progression of our talented younger players.
At present we run 9 Adult teams – four on Saturdays, two on Sundays, two in the Wimborne Evening league & a midweek friendly team. We have an extensive youth coaching set up with ECB qualified coaches and youth teams from Under 9 to Under 15. We are currently undertaking coaching in three first schools – Ferndown First School, Oakhurst First School & St Marys First School under the Chance to Shine initiative.
Off the field we have a programme of social events as well as Darts, Pool and Golfing sections. The Clubhouse is available for hire to outside organisations.
