What a horrible weekend. Wet weather throughout brought a premature end to a lot of games but luckily the saturday 1st team and 4th team managed to survive the weather, and bask in the glorious sunshine that was on offer at Dolmans Farm. With two games on, that meant limited chances to score points were on offer and we have a brand new weekly winner in 4th team silver fox James Avery with a very credible 516 points, in a league of his own this week. Niall Snook was a long way back in second place with 376 points, and Connor Coppard took third place with 349 points. As these results are the first week of a new months competition James Avery is in pole position for the £8,50 match fee award.
The overall table, or the race to £50, has a new leader with the 1st team skipper, Eric Linge overtaking his sister, one week too late, and is now sat at the summit with a 9 point lead on 3046 points. Donna Linge has had to settle for second place this week on 3037 points and tied in third place are the nippers Niall Snook and Jake Brooks with both managers on 3015 points. The table has got a lot more congested now so don’t be suprised if managers of teams in contention start getting on your back if you don’t get them points.
In the players table there is only one winner this week with John Bonney picking up bowling figures of 6 for 16 and in doing so, also picked up a substantial bonus of 170 points. In second place was the hat-trick hero Eric Linge with 112 points and in third place was James Raftery with a tidy 65 points.
The overall players table still has Eric Linge at the top on 806 points, and Neil Sexton has taken second place with 332 points. Birthday boy George Stratford will have to be happy with third place on 279 points, but at 68 to still be walking is a dream for me. Lets hope the weather forecast improves for this weekend. I know the England game is on friday but no rain cards to be played please!!
